Executive Summary
The Science and Partnership for Agriculture Conference (SPAC) 2022 unfolded four major conferences that convened over 500 physical and around 300 virtual representatives of more than 50 agricultural oriented institutions in Africa and beyond (national, regional and international agricultural research institutions, extension and advisory, to ministries of agriculture; academia; bilateral and multilateral development partner organizations, both in the public and private sectors, as well as the media). Hosted at Alisa Hotel in Accra Ghana, the conferences went from September 14th – 16th, 2022. The 2nd edition of the Maiden Conference of Knowledge Management for Agricultural Development (KM4AgD) was among the four events at SPAC and it saw the participation of the 2nd cohort of individuals who took part at the KM4AgD Challenge 2022, as well as representatives of the CAADP-XP4 institutions notably FARA, CCARDESA, AFAAS, ASARECA, CORAF and other sister organizations that showed interest in this concept namely ILRI and YPARD-Africa. This year edition was paramount as it further saw the participation of the African Union Commission in this practical experience. The elaboration of a KM Partnership framework for Africa was among the major outcome expected from this year’s edition. This so to further engage relevant actors to seek political support for advancing KM in Africa AR4D. In addition to that were the development of KM concepts and briefs, certificate awarding of participants and their recognition as Knowledge Management for Sustainable Development Agents, their induction and inclusion into the KM4AgD Community for Practice for Artificial Intelligence and Establishment of KM4AgD Center of Excellence.
